On the pitch the two Borussia Dortmund shooting stars seem to understand each other blindly. And when it comes to music they're on the same page as well. Both like the songs of the Canadian pop star Justin Bieber. The 21-year-old Götze told GQ Germany in an interview: "Marco is a mad Justin Bieber fan. I'm nowhere on that level." The 4 years older Reus sings along to the Canadian teen idol's songs and knows all the lyrics, he says, which he himself didn't.
Götze also revealed they sometimes listen to Bieber songs "for fun" before going out on the pitch. "Almost all of us are still very young, so I guess we put on slightly different music than other teams."
A similar music taste isn't the only reason why Götze and Reus get along so well: "When we met on the national team, we clicked right away. The fact that we like similar music helps. But it's not decisive." says Reus, who already admitted to a passion for Bieber's songs in February, telling [German youth magazine] "Bravo": "Justin Bieber is one of the most successful musicians, he has already achived incredibly much in his young career. I really like listening to his songs."
He's not embarrassed about his musical affinity for Bieber: "I stand by everything I do". But most often he listens to R'n'B and hip hop: "My favourite artists are Chris Brown, Drake and Trey Songz".

Musik genießt bei mir einen fast genau so hohen Stellenwert wie der Fußball. Bei guter Musik kann ich hervorragend entspannen, ob bei mir zuhause oder im Auto auf dem Weg zum oder vom Training. In der Kabine nutzen wir musikalische Einlagen um uns zu pushen und natürlich gibt es auch gute Clubs mit guter Musik, die ich, wenn es der Spielplan zulässt, auch mal besuche.
